The Togolese government has announced visa-free entry for citizens of all African countries, allowing travellers across the continent to enter the country without obtaining a visa beforehand.
The new policy, which took effect on May 18, 2026, permits African visitors to stay in Togo for up to 30 days without a visa. Nigerians are among those expected to benefit from the initiative.
Authorities said the decision was introduced to strengthen African unity, regional integration, and the free movement of people and goods across the continent.
With the development, Togo joins a growing number of African nations adopting visa-free travel policies for fellow Africans, including Rwanda, Benin, Ghana, The Gambia, and Seychelles.
The policy is expected to boost tourism, trade, and intra-African mobility as more African countries continue to ease travel restrictions within the continent.
