President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Friday commissioned a series of tertiary education infrastructure projects across Nigeria as part of activities marking the third anniversary of his administration.

The projects, delivered by the Federal Ministry of Education through the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), cut across four tertiary institutions in Nasarawa, Kaduna, Jigawa and Bauchi States.

At the Nasarawa State College of Education, Akwanga, the President inaugurated a new School of Science Complex designed to enhance the training of science teachers for basic and post-basic education.

At the Nigerian Defence Academy, Afaka, Kaduna, Tinubu commissioned a remodelled Senate Building equipped with modern administrative and security facilities, as well as a Biodiversity and Conservation Centre aimed at strengthening research capacity in environmental sciences.

In Jigawa State, the President inaugurated a new classroom complex at Hussaini Adamu Federal Polytechnic, Kazaure, constructed under the 2024 TETFund Special High Impact Intervention to address classroom shortages and improve learning conditions.

At Sa’adu Zungur University, Gadau Campus, Bauchi State, he commissioned a 48-week TETFund-funded student hostel built at a cost of about ₦739 million to ease accommodation challenges.

Tinubu said investments in tertiary education remain central to national development, stressing that quality infrastructure directly influences learning outcomes and workforce readiness.

“When you build a classroom, you build a generation,” the President said, adding that sustained investment in education is critical to closing Nigeria’s skills gap.

He also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening military training institutions, noting that the Nigerian Defence Academy plays a strategic role in national security development.

Tinubu commended the Ministry of Education, TETFund, contractors and institutional leaders for delivering the projects, urging proper maintenance and effective use of the facilities.

The commissioning is part of ongoing federal efforts under the Renewed Hope Agenda to expand and upgrade tertiary education infrastructure nationwide.
