Jamaica’s Usain Bolt, the only man to win all three sprint events at three Olympic Games, has won a record –equalling fourth sportsman of the year award.

Bolt, alongside US teenage gymnast, Simone Biles dominated last year’s Rio Olympic Games. Bolt won the 100m, 200m and 1X100m relay gold medals while the 19-year- old Biles became the first woman to win four gymnastics gold in a single Olympic games thereby winning  the “Sport Oscars” award.

The Lightening Bolt, as he is fondly called, however said he will retire after the World Athletics Championships in August.

“I have done what I needed to do in the sport. I feel people really appreciate what I have done and I’m satisfied with that,” an excited Bolt told CNN Sport.

Bolt has now equalled Roger Federer and Serena William’s record as the only athletes to have won four Laureus World Sport awards.
