Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) have arrested former Minister of Science and Technology, Uche Nnaji, over allegations of certificate forgery.
Nnaji was reportedly arrested on Wednesday at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, while preparing to board a private jet to Abuja.
Security sources said the arrest was carried out at the request of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), which is investigating petitions concerning the former minister’s tenure in office.
According to the sources, the ICPC had previously invited Nnaji for questioning over allegations relating to the management of the ministry but later sought the DSS’s assistance in effecting his arrest. He was subsequently handed over to the anti-graft agency for further investigation.
