France booked their place in the semi-finals of the 2026 FIFA World Cup after defeating Morocco 2-0 in Thursday’s quarter-final clash at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts.

After a closely contested first half, Kylian Mbappé broke the deadlock in the 60th minute before Ousmane Dembélé doubled France’s advantage six minutes later to seal a comfortable victory.

Morocco struggled to break down the French defence despite enjoying spells of possession, while goalkeeper Yassine Bounou produced several key saves to keep the Atlas Lions in the contest before France’s second-half breakthrough.

The result ended Morocco’s impressive World Cup campaign and extended France’s unbeaten record against the North African side at the tournament.

Didier Deschamps’ men will now face the winner of the Spain-Belgium quarter-final in the semi-finals as they continue their quest for a third World Cup title.
