Troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA have rescued 27 kidnapped victims and foiled an attempted mass abduction during separate operations in Sokoto and Zamfara states.
According to security analyst Bakatsine, the operations, carried out over the past two days, thwarted a planned mass abduction along the Gummi–Sokoto highway after troops engaged the suspected kidnappers in a gun battle, forcing them to flee.
The troops also rescued 27 kidnap victims from separate incidents across the two states and recovered several livestock and motorcycles abandoned by the fleeing criminals.
All the rescued victims have since been reunited with their families. Bakatsine commended the troops for their courage, professionalism and commitment to safeguarding lives and communities.
