The Federal Government has described the Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals as a key driver of Nigeria’s ambition to build a $1 trillion economy, pledging stronger collaboration with the private sector to accelerate industrialisation and job creation.

Minister of State for Industry, Senator John Owan Enoh, made the remarks during a tour of the Dangote Refinery, Petrochemicals and Fertiliser plants in Lagos, describing the integrated complex as one of Africa’s most significant industrial investments and a model for Nigeria’s manufacturing growth.

Enoh said the refinery has strengthened Nigeria’s position as an exporter of refined petroleum products and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting manufacturers through policy implementation, financing initiatives and continued engagement with industry stakeholders.

President of Dangote Industries, Aliko Dangote, urged the government to maintain policy consistency, saying stable policies are critical to attracting investment. He noted that the refinery’s successful completion, despite major financial and operational challenges, demonstrates the capacity of Nigerian businesses to execute projects of global significance.

Dangote added that indigenous investors remain vital to job creation, foreign exchange earnings and long-term economic growth.
