At least 13 people, including a child, were killed and 75 others injured in a Ukrainian drone strike on Nizhnekamsk in Russia’s Tatarstan region, Russian authorities said.

Ukraine confirmed that the Tanevo oil refinery in the city was hit, while defence technology firm FirePoint said its FP-1 drones were used. Nizhnekamsk is located more than 1,100 kilometres from Ukraine.

Russian officials said industrial and residential areas were affected, while Tatarstan authorities declared a period of mourning. Kyiv has not commented on the reported casualties.

The attack comes as Ukraine intensifies long-range strikes on Russian energy and military infrastructure, while Moscow continues large-scale aerial attacks on Ukrainian cities.
