The United Kingdom has deported 23 more Nigerians for committing immigration-related offences in that country.

The deportees, all males, arrived the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos at about 6.00 a.m. on Friday in a chartered aircraft.

Spokesman of the Lagos Airport Police Command, DSP Joseph Alabi, confirmed the deportation to newsmen at the airport.

On arrival, they were received by a combined team of officers of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP). The Nigerian Police and officials of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).

The affected deportees, all looking distraught, were then profiled by the immigration authorities and given stipends to help them travel to their various destinations. Recall that the United Kingdom had in February deported 83 Nigerians for various reasons.
