The Nigerian Senate on Thursday, confirmed the nomination of 15 out of the 27 Resident Electoral Commissioners of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Following the adoption of the report by the Senate Committee on INEC at plenary, Chairman of the Committee, Senator Suleiman Nazif said all the 15 nominees have been duly screened and cleared by the Nigeria Police, Department of State Services (DSS) and the Code of Conduct Bureau.
Senator Nazif further added that the remaining 12 nominees were still going through the screening process by the panel for confirmation ahead of the 2019 polls.
