The Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi has condemned Monday’s gun attack the palace of the Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Saliu Adetunji during a chieftaincy coronation ceremony.
Ajimobi vowed not to tolerate anyone or group of people aiming to plunge his administration into violence and brigandage.
He further reaffirmed his commitment to the security and protection of all residents of the state which his administration has been able to painstakingly restore and maintain in the last six years.
Yet- to-be identified gunmen invaded the Olubadan’s Palace at Popoyemoja in Ibadan while the monarch was conducting the installation ceremony for newly appointed Baales and Mogajis.
Although no casualty was recorded during the attack, the gunmen who arrived in a Siena space bus released several rounds of gunshots into the air via the open roof and windows of the vehicle before speeding off.
