The Nigerian Senate on Tuesday accused some functionaries in the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari of rubbishing the anti – corruption crusade of the current government.
They queried why Abdulrasheed Maina, the ex – chairman of the defunct Presidential Task Force on Pension Reforms who absconded from service as assistant director could be discreetly reinstated into the nation’s civil service as a director.
The senators therefore set up an ad hoc committee to investigate the circumstances surrounding the reinstatement of Maina who is said to have gone into hiding soon after the news of his reinstatement went into the public domain.
Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki said that the members of the committee would include the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Senate committees on Interior, Judiciary and Anti – Corruption while it would be headed by the Chairman, Senate Committee on Establishment and Public Service Matters, Senator Aloysius Akpan Etok.
