Mrs. Nwamaka Okoye is an award-winning interior designer. This amazing woman is also an architect and engineer. Highly creative and innovative, she is Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Housessories Limited which is based in Lagos.

Nwamaka has over 20 years professional experience in interior design as well as furniture design and manufacturing. Her concepts in furniture production have extended the frontiers of the furniture business in Nigeria.

She has won a number of design awards. She was 3rd Place Finalist at the Hunter Fan Design Competition in Savannah, Georgia, U.S.A.; 1st Place Portfolio Scholarship Award Winner of the Organisation of Nigerian Building Professionals, Chicago Chapter and 3rd Place in the Matrix Design Competition.

Nwamaka was recently listed among the 100 Nigerian SME Women published in the Bank and Entrepreneur Africa Magazine.

She is the pioneer Nigeria Chapter President for the Stanford SEED Transformation Network. She is a member of the Institute of Directors (IoD) and the Interior Design Association of Nigeria (IDAN).

A graduate of Architecture, she also studied Interior Design at the Savannah College of Art and Design, Georgia. She has a Master’s degree in Engineering Technology (with specialization in Illustration & Multimedia) from East Tennessee State University.

Nwamaka likes to write in her spare time. She is married to Anthony Okoye and they have three children.

It is in recognition of her achievements in Furniture & Interior Design that Mrs. Nwamaka Okoye is deemed worthy to be conferred with the Woman of Merit Gold Award which is part of the 2017 PSR National Awards.
