Ese Oruru, the 14-year-old child who was lured away from her parents in Yenagoa, taken to Kano and allegedly married by Yunusa Dahiru was delivered of a baby girl this morning.
The delivery which happened at the Government House Clinic in Yenagoa makes the junior secondary school girl a child mother.
Even so, Ese is said to have delivered naturally. The father told reporters that she gave birth on her own and “without much trouble”.
To the father, Charles Oruru, the development is a source of joy to the family. He claimed his family had a lot of apprehension considering the age of their daughter. Now, according to him, the family is happy that a new member has been added to them in spite of everything that has happened.
However, the father of Ese’s baby, Yunusa is still in prison custody since he could not fulfil the bail conditions imposed on him by the Federal High Court in Yenagoa. The man is charged with kidnapping, unlawful carnal knowledge and exploitation of a minor. The next hearing of the case is fixed for June 2.
Obviously, with the arrival of the baby, a new twist may just have been added to a very dramatic case. It is one case that has generated national interest.
