The wife of Brig.-Gen. Paul Tarela Boroh, the former Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta and sacked Coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (SAP), Mrs. Ibinye Boroh has denied reports that millions of dollars were discovered in their house.
A combined team of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Office of the National Security Adviser (NSA) had on Monday conducted a search on the residence and reportedly unearthed $9 million cash.
Mrs. Boroh in a press conference on Wednesday said the reports were false, malicious and fabricated. She therefore demanded that the authors of such publications retract such with immediate effect.
“This is to inform the general public that no cash was discovered and could have been discovered by government operatives during their search on our house on Monday, March 19, 2018.
“The publications by a section of the press stating the contrary is fabricated, false in its entirety, malicious and calculated to mislead the public.
“Our family feels embarrassed and harassed, and therefore requests the authors to retract same,” Mrs. Boroh said.
