Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari left Nigeria this morning through the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
The President however cut a straight gait with confident steps which almost belied his health condition. The only signs of stress were on his face and neck. He was strong enough to brief airport correspondents and answer a few quuestions.
Asked how he felt and about the anxiety which reports about his health must have generated among Nigerians, Buhari went quite philosophical and rhetorically answered the question with a question: “Is there anybody who doesn’t fall sick?”
The President who said the National Assembly was formally notified about his 10-day medical vacation did not see anything unusual about his trip to London.
And did he have anything to tell Nigerians? Did he have any assurances or message to send to his countrymen? His straightforward reply was: “I have already told Nigerians that I am going for ten days to have my ear checked.”
