Former Sokoto State Governor, Attahiru Dalhatu Bafarawa says the spate of  killings of farmers by herdsmen in parts of the country is politically motivated.

Fielding questions from reporters in Sokoto on Monday, Bafarawa described as unfortunate the recent happenings across the country as according to him, politicians have succeeded in penetrating the two sides involved in the crisis.

His words: “What have conventional herdsmen got to do with guns and why now? If the FG had listened to the views of the people right from time, the killings we are witnessing would not have continued.”

He further chided the current Sokoto State Governor, Amimu Waziri Tambuwal over his refusal to disclose what he inherited from his predecessor, Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko. He cited himself as an example of openness by making it  public knowledge that he left ₦13billion behind after his tenure.
