Nigeria’s President and candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the just concluded elections, Muhammadu Buhari says he prefers to keep mum until the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announces the final results.
President Buhari stated this on Monday while fielding questions from journalists soon after arriving Abuja after spending the weekend in Katsina to participate in the Presidential and National Assembly elections.
When asked about the feelers he was getting from across the country on the polls, Buhari answered: “I don’t want to depend on rumours but we will rather wait for INEC to announce the results.”
On his advice to Nigerians as they await the result of the elections, he added: “Well l hope that Nigerians will appreciate that it was this government which made sure that they were allowed in security and peace to cast their votes for whichever party and candidates they wanted.”
