A Ukrainian airplane carrying 176 people crashed today shortly after takeoff from the main airport in Tehran, the Iranian capital. Iranian State Tv reports that the crash was due to technical difficulties.
The plane carried 167 passengers and nine crew members from different nations on its flight to the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv. The crash killed everyone on board.
The tragedy came only a few hours after Iran launched a ballistic missile attack targeting two bases in Iraq which house U.S. forces in retaliation for the killing of Iran’s top army general, Qassem Soleimani.
