Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai has today visited the dethroned Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi at his place of banishment, Awe in Nasarawa State.
El-Rufai’s visit comes three days after he appointed Sanusi as the Vice-chairman of the Kaduna Investment Promotion Agency (KADIPA). He has also apppointed the deposed Emir as the new Chancellor of the Kaduna State University.
Apparently out of respect for the personality of the former Emir of Kano by the people of Awe, Malam Sanusi today led the Juma’at prayers at the Awe Central Mosque. He was accompanied by the Kaduna State Governor and members of his entourage as well as the Emir of Awe, Alhaji Isa Abubakar Umar.
Earlier in the day, a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja granted an interim order for the release of Sanusi from detention.
