At least 50 people were killed while several others were injured as gunmen suspected to be bandits attacked some villages in Igabi and Giwa local government areas of Kaduna State on Sunday.
The affected villages are Kerawa, Rago, Marina, Zariyawa, Hashimawa, Gidan Musa Saidu, and Unguwar Barau. The Kaduna State Police Command has confirmed the incident.
Troops of the Nigerian Army and Air Force are said to have launched an offensive against the murderous bandits and in the process, killed many of them.
