Governor of Ebonyi State, Dave Umahi, has tested positive for COVID-19 .

The Governor said that he and some of his close aides tested positive for the virus in a statement he issued on Saturday.

He also stated that although he was asymptomatic, he has been in isolation in line with protocols laid down by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

Dave Umahi has  directed the Deputy Governor, Kelechi Igwe, to take over the coordination of the state’s fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
