Elder statesman and former governor of Kaduna State, Balarabe Musa, is dead. Musa’s death was announced by his political associate and former senator, Shehu Sani.

Balarabe Musa was elected governor of Kaduna State in 1979 but was later controversially impeached and removed from office.
He was widely recognized as a progressive and was the leader of the People’s Redemption Party in the 4th Republic. He however stepped down as the chairman in 2018 due to health issues.
Balarabe Musa was an extremely vocal politician who never shied away from making his position on national issues known.
