Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered the immediate opening of four land borders.
The borders are Seme in the SouthWest, Illela in the NorthWest, Maigatari in the NorthWest, and Mfun in the South-South.
The announcement was made by the Minister of Finance at the end of the 28th virtual Federal Executive Council meeting on Wednesday.
In October 2019, the Federal Government ordered the complete closure of Nigeria’s borders as part of efforts to control the smuggling of weapons and drugs into the country.
