Details have now emerged about the identity of the man who shot in Enugu around the Ebeano Tunnel bypass near the State Diagnostic Centre on Garden Avenue, GRA, Enugu.
The shooting occurred around 5 pm on Sunday before the eyes of bystanders and motorists at the ever busy bypass.
The victim according to sources was kidnapped and driven to the spot where his abductors brought him out and shot him fatally. He was said to be still alive when he was rushed to a nearby health facility where he was later confirmed dead.
The victim, Justice Stanley Nnaji, a retired judge from Isi Uzo LGA of Enugu State, was removed from office on account of his role in the abduction and removal of Governor Chris Ngige in 2007.
The Enugu State Police Public Relations Officer, Daniel Ndukwe has in a statement confirmed the incident and has launched investigation and massive manhunt for the perpetrators who had zoomed off with the late judge’ s ML Mercedes Benz jeep after the murder.
His remains have been deposited in the mortuary.
