Tajudeen Abbas, representing Zaria Federal Constituency in Kaduna State, has been elected as the new Speaker of the House of Representatives. He secured a resounding victory in a voice vote against his opponents, Idris Wase and Aminu Jaji, with an overwhelming majority of 352 votes out of 359 cast.
Abbas, a seasoned politician, has been a member of the House since 2011 and brings valuable experience to his new role.
Benjamin Kalu, the representative of Bende Federal Constituency in Abia State, emerged uncontested as the Deputy Speaker, succeeding Idris Wase.
