The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) on Friday announced the release of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results, while disclosing that 39,834 results are being withheld due to suspected examination malpractices.
Speaking at the official results briefing, JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, revealed that 80 individuals are under investigation for offences related to the exam. He noted that Anambra State recorded the highest number of suspects, with 14 candidates currently being probed.
In a further breakdown, Oloyede stated that 467 underage candidates scored above the minimum benchmark set for university admission, while 50 candidates were found to be directly involved in exam fraud.
The UTME is a critical requirement for gaining admission into tertiary institutions in Nigeria. JAMB has continued to intensify its efforts to ensure the integrity of the examination process through the use of biometric verification and strict monitoring procedures.
