President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Thursday arrived in Awka, the Anambra State capital, for his first official visit since assuming office, marking a significant moment in the state’s political history.
The President touched down at the Chinua Achebe International Airport around 12:15 p.m. and was warmly received by Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, and other top government officials.
The highlight of Tinubu’s visit is the inauguration of Anambra’s first-ever Government House, a project that represents a major milestone more than three decades after the creation of the state in 1991. The long-anticipated project under Governor Soludo’s administration is expected to enhance the operational capacity and institutional identity of the state government.
In addition to the Government House, President Tinubu will also commission a series of landmark projects executed by the Soludo administration. Among them is the Solution Fun City, a multipurpose recreational and cultural facility aimed at boosting tourism and youth engagement in the state.
The President’s itinerary also includes a town hall meeting with key stakeholders in the South-East, signaling a strategic effort to deepen engagement with the region.
This visit marks President Tinubu’s second official trip to the South-East this year, following his January visit to Enugu State. It comes amid ongoing efforts to foster national unity and promote inclusive development across Nigeria’s geopolitical zones.
