The Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to approve and use the modified digital logo of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) for all elections conducted by the commission.

Justice J.O. Abdulmalik also issued a perpetual injunction restraining INEC from stopping or interfering with the NDC’s use of its digitally designed “two-finger” victory sign as the party’s official logo.

The NDC National Publicity Secretary, Osa Director, said in a statement on Thursday that the ruling followed a suit filed after INEC allegedly removed the modified logo from its database and replaced it with the old association logo. He said the party’s National Executive Committee approved the modified logo on March 25, 2026, and forwarded it to INEC, which initially uploaded it before later restoring the old logo without explanation.

Director said the party first sought to resolve the matter administratively but turned to the court after INEC failed to make the requested correction. The court subsequently directed INEC to approve the modified logo, including its symbol and colours, featuring a blue background, a red “NDC” inscription and the two-finger victory sign.

Reacting to the judgment, Director said the ruling had resolved the dispute and directed all NDC candidates and members to immediately use the approved logo on campaign materials and party paraphernalia. He acknowledged that some members may have already produced materials bearing the old logo and said the party would intensify public sensitisation to ensure uniform use of the approved symbol.
