The Kano State caucus of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the National Assembly on Thursday declared their full support for President Muhammad Buhari and their state governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje over the bribery allegation leveled against him.
The caucus said that no amount of blackmail or sabotage would deter them from delivering five million votes for the duo in the 2019 general elections. Chairman and leader of the caucus
Speaking on behalf of the caucus at a press briefing in Abuja, Senator Kabiru Gaya said members of the caucus in the National Assembly were determined in their resolve to give solid support to President Buhari and Governor Ganduje in 2019.
Senator Gaya said the Kano State caucus of the APC has passed a vote of confidence on Ganduje and commended the exemplary leadership of the governor, adding that they were shocked over his many outstanding achievements.
“The people of Kano have spoken with one voice and they have said that the governor has done well. We call on our President to understand that anything done to tarnish the image of the governor does not hold water,” he added.
In his contribution, the Chief Whip of the House of Representatives, Alhassan Ado Doguwa debunked speculations that they had withdrawn support for Ganduje and Buhari.
He therefore stressed that they would stand by their pledge to deliver five million votes to the duo during the 2019 general elections.
