President Bola Tinubu arrived in New Delhi on Sunday for a six-day visit to India that will include attending the G20 Leaders’ Summit.
The plane touched down at Indira Gandhi International Airport, where Tinubu was greeted by Indian officials. The president will participate in high-level meetings with world leaders and business executives during his time in New Delhi.
According to spokesperson Ajuri Ngelale, Tinubu will use the visit to attract foreign direct investment and global capital to Nigeria. The agenda features bilateral talks with the leaders of India, South Korea, Brazil and Germany.
The president is also slated for roundtable discussions with at least 20 executives from major Indian companies in various sectors. He aims to strengthen economic ties and promote Nigeria as an attractive destination for investment.
Accompanying cabinet members include Foreign Affairs Minister Yusuf Tuggar, Finance Minister Wale Edun, and the Communications, Industry and Trade ministers. Tinubu departs New Delhi on September 10 after the conclusion of the G20 Summit.
The visit underscores Nigeria’s efforts to forge partnerships and secure international support to boost development. Tinubu is expected to champion reforms making the country more business-friendly.
