Gunmen have abducted the younger sister of former Minister of Power and APC governorship aspirant in Oyo State, Adebayo Adelabu, along with her twin sons in Ibadan.
The victims, Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul, 43, and her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, were reportedly kidnapped at about 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday while she was taking the children to school.
Confirming the incident in a statement, Adelabu’s media aide, Femi Awogboro, said security agencies had been notified and had commenced investigations and rescue efforts.
According to the family, Mrs. John-Paul, a former employee of the Central Bank of Nigeria and First Bank Pension Custodian, relocated to Ibadan after her retirement last year while preparing to join her husband in the United States.
The family expressed confidence in the ability of security agencies to secure the safe release of the victims and apprehend those responsible for the abduction.
It also appealed to the public to remain calm, avoid spreading unverified information, and provide any useful information to security authorities through appropriate channels.
