Former Nigerian international footballer, Sunday Oliseh has been named as Best Coach after the first round of matches in the Dutch second tier football league, The Jupiler League.
The 43-year-old Oliseh is the gaffer of Fortuna Sittard who currently occupy the third position after 12 weeks, marking the end of the first round of matches in the 20-team league.
He was honoured and presented with a ‘Bronze Bull Plaque’ alongside the captain of the team, Perr Schuurs who was named Best Player over the period under review.
“I am very honoured to win this prize. Because this is the result of hard work and a lot of help from my players, the fans, the assistants, our chairman, Isitan Gum and above all, God!” Oliseh said on the club’s website.
Oliseh, who resigned his appointment as coach of Nigeria’s senior national football team, the Super Eagles in 2016 over contractual violations and other administrative issues is a technical member of world’s football governing body, FIFA, an Olympic gold medalist (Atlanta 1996) and a winner of the African Cup Of Nations (Tunisia 1994).
