Founder of DAAR Communications and a national chairmanship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Raymond Dokpesi has said that he does not mind being the sacrificial lamb of the party for it to achieve its mandate.
Dokpesi, who stated this on Thursday while fielding questions on the African Independent Television (AIT) programme, Focus Nigeria said sacrifices needed to be made along the way if the party must reach its desired destination.
His words: “I have told you that I have a very broad mind. As far as I am concerned, it is a learning turf and there must be some sacrificial lambs along the way to arriving at the final destination.
“I do not mind if along the line, I have to pay this price, for and on behalf of the people within the Peoples Democratic Party that believe that there must be change. It’s a struggle and it is going to take a lot of time to really get people to understand that this is what we should do.”
He stressed that most of the political office seekers within the PDP were particular about their selfish interest not minding the welfare of the youth and ordinary Nigerians on the street.
He added that due to the impunity and crave for power among politicians in the country, any obstacle, including human lives that stand in their way towards achieving their goal are most often than not cut down.
While affirming that it would take a lot of time for Nigerian politicians to do away with such mentality, Chief Dokpesi urged other aspirants for the PDP national chairmanship position to put the interest of the party ahead of personal interests, as it was the only way the party could actualize its dream of taking power from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2019.
