A chieftain of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said he supports the reported endorsement of the Gombe State governor, Ibrahim Dankwambo by popular Enugu-based cleric, Reverend Father Ejike Mbaka to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari.
The Deputy National Chairman of the party, Senator Babayo Garba Gamawa stated this on Sunday, adding that the governor, going by his antecedents and performance, has all it takes to rule the nation.
Gamawa said: “Only Allah knows the future, but there are people from different faiths who make predictions which sometimes become a reality and sometimes don’t. If his (Mbaka’s) prediction becomes a reality, we will definitely be glad to have Governor Dankwambo as our flag bearer.
“He has transformed Gombe State in the past seven years and going by his record, having excelled in his professional career to the rank of Accountant General of the Federation and later governor, he is qualified to be the flag bearer of the PDP come 2019,” Gamawa said.
He further stated that the President Buhari-led administration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) had inflicted untold hardship on the Nigerian masses due to their inability to introduce policies that impact positively on the lives of the populace.
