Barely 42 hours after failing to secure the governorship ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), a former Minister of State for Works and immediate past National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Prince Dayo Adeyeye has quit the party.
Adeyeye, who came second behind the incumbent Deputy Governor of the state, Prof. Kolapo Olusola in Tuesday’s primaries with 771 votes said he could not work with the governor of the state, Ayodele Fayose.
Addressing his supporters at his campaign office in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital, Adeyeye alleged that Governor Fayose imposed his deputy as the party’s candidate for the upcoming July 14 governorship election in the state.
He added that he was yet to conclude plans about which political platform he would pitch tents with.
