The National Executive Council (NEC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday expelled some of its members including Senator Buruji Kashamu for acts it considered to be against the interest of party.

Arising from its 80th meeting where it took several far-reaching decisions ahead of the 2019 general elections, the party also resolved to change its name in order to accommodate new members.

Addressing newsmen shortly after the meeting, the National Publicity Secretary of the Party, Hon. Kola Ologbondiyan gave the names of the other expelled members as Hon. Semiu Sodipo, Engr. Dayo Adedayo, and Hon. Segun Seriki, all from Ogun State for allegedly romancing with a named opposition political party and indulging in other anti-PDP activities ‎.

The NEC in session also considered the diffusion of the Reformed All Progressives Congress (R- APC) with the PDP.  A committee to this effect was set up to implement and approved the template to be used in the diffusion process.
