The senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Dino Melaye has secured the ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to contest the same seat in the 2019 election.
Melaye, who won the seat on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has in the recent past scaled numerous hurdles including a trumped-up attempt by his constituents to recall him from the upper chamber.
Disclosing the development on Tuesday via his Twitter handle, Senator Melaye, who defected from the APC to the PDP in May this year, thanked God and the PDP for returning him.
“God for being returned as the candidate of the Great PDP in the Senatorial primary election held today in Kabba. To God be the Glory. Kogi West PDP I thank you,” Melaye tweeted.
