Nigeria’s former Vice President and presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has claimed that the current presidential ticket of the party which has himself and former Governor of Anambra State, Dr Peter Obi is the type that has never been produced in Nigeria since Independence.

Speaking on Wednesday while addressing participants at a town hall meeting he held with stakeholders in the business/manufacturing sector in Aba, the Abia State capital, Atiku said a combination of his managerial and business experience and those of his running mate, Peter Obi would get the country working again.

Atiku said apart from himself and Obi, no incoming government or team has the capacity to solve the plethora of problems currently facing the manufacturing and business sectors of the Nigerian economy .

While listing the numerous business enterprises he has successfully steered, Atiku said no individual in the President Muhammadu Buhari administration understands the workings of the economy. ‘ There is no economist in the Buhari government,’ he said.

He further reminded the gathering that the inactive dry ports in the country were established by a PDP government, adding that nothing would stop his administration from ensuring that those  ports become functional again if elected in 2019.
