Barely months after he was sacked as Manager of England’s Manchester United, Portuguese-born Jose Mourinho has landed another job as a TV pundit for BeIN Sports.

The Portuguese manager will be making his first official television appearance as a pundit during the channel’s coverage of the AFC Asian Cup and the English Premier League.

The 55-year-old Mourinho is expected to feature during next weekend’s fixtures, offering his thoughts and analyses during a match between Qatar and Saudi Arabia on January 17 and the Premier League encounter between Arsenal and Chelsea two days later.

According to an official statement released by BeIN Sports, Mourinho remains one of the greatest and charismatic managers of all time whose personality would be enjoyed by millions of viewers across the world.

“Jose is one of the greatest football managers of all time and we hope that his expert analysis and charismatic personality will be enjoyed by our millions of viewers. It’s a clear example of the premium content and world class punditry that we provide to sports fans globally on a daily basis,” the statement said.

Mourinho’s new ‘hot seat’ venture is coming at a time when Benfica of Portugal, Real Madrid of Spain and Italy’s Inter Milan were all rumoured to be interested in securing his services.

However, Mourinho has put paid to Benfica’s hopes of securing his signature as he has expressly declared that he has no intention of managing any club side in his homeland yet.
