A Swiss female footballer, Florijana Ismaili has been declared missing since Saturday afternoon after she dived off a rented boat on Lake Como in Italy.
According to Italian media, the 24-year-old Ismaili who plays as a forward for Young Boys Bern and for the Switzerland women’s national team has been missing since Saturday afternoon.
Ms. Ismaili is reported to have dived off a boat she rented with her friend on Lake Como in Lombardy but never resurfaced.
In a statement, her club said it was very concerned after the player went missing during what it described as a swimming accident, adding that they have not given up hope of finding her.
Ismaili, who has played for the Young Boys since 2011 made her debut with Switzerland’s national team in 2014, scoring three goals in 33 matches.
