Mrs. Oluwatoyin Adebimpe Durodola is a dynamic manager who has proven her mettle in different fields. From accounting and financial management functions, she has successful transformed into a very resourceful educator.

Mrs. Durodola has today made remarkable impact on children education as the Founder and Director of Saints Haven School which is located in the Ikosi, Ketu area of Lagos.

Born on October 11, 1969 to the family of Prof. (Pastor) Olorunfunmi Adeyemi, Oluwatoyin graduated from the Federal Polytechnic Ilaro in 1996.

She obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Education Management from Lagos State University in 2008. She also studied at the North American Montessori Centre (International Montessori) in Canada in 2009. She earned a certificate in Child Day Care Management from the Stratford Career Institute, USA in 2011.

As an educator today, she has core competences in Classroom Evaluation Methods, Curriculum Planning and Methods, Teacher Mentoring and Development, Academic Progress Tracking, Children Discipline, Morals and Safety and also, Technology Enhancement.

Before her foray into education, Mrs. Durodola had a full – running career in accounting working with Lever Brothers Nigeria Plc (now Unilever Nigeria Plc). At Unilever, she worked as Depot Bank Manager from 1996 to 2000.

She was Treasury Operations Manager from 2000 to 2008 and Credit Control Manager from 2009 to 2012. She also functioned as the company’s Customers Development Finance Business Partner and the Oregun Factory Accountant from 2013 to 2016 when she retired from the company.

 

Oluwatoyin retired from Lever Brothers with a lot of accolades. She was highly respected and regarded by both management and colleagues. Alas! She was recognized and honoured for her performance.

She was a winner of the Cash & Cost Challenge initiated by Unilever West Africa. She was also a winner of the company’s Best Finance Business Partner Award.

It was after her retirement that she decided to actualize her vision of creating a child – focused learning arena by setting up Saints Haven School. It was this vision and passion for standards in learning that led her to enroll in various training programs and specialized training in children care and education.

Some of these programs were: Montessori Training, Nigeria Curriculum, British Curriculum, Christian School Curriculum, School Management, 21st Century School, Phonics & Etiquettes, Curriculum Development and Digital Classroom. Saints Haven School has made remarkable progress in a few years. It today boasts of 43 staff and 273 pupils.

It is in recognition of her contribution to national development in the area of Development, Management and Delivery of Quality Education that Mrs. Oluwatoyin Adebimpe Durodola was deemed worthy to be conferred with the Woman of Merit Gold Award which is part of the 21st PSR National Awards.
