Nigeria on Wednesday reported 4,035 COVID-19 cases, the highest-ever daily infection tally since the start of the pandemic nearly two years ago.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) disclosed this in its daily update about the pandemic in the country.
The NCDC confirmed new infections in 15 states in the country with Lagos State having 3,393 more cases.
Rivers state recorded 260; Edo – 62; Akwa Ibom – 42; Kaduna – 39; Ekiti – 38; Oyo – 38; Delta – 31; and Kano – 31.
Ogun recorded 30; Abia – 26; Bauchi – 15; Ondo – 14; Enugu – 9 and Kwara – 7.
Nigeria’s COVID-19 infections now stand at 231,413 out of which 211,853 have been successfully treated and discharged.
2,991 people have died from COVID-19 complications in the country.
