The 137 schoolchildren who were abducted from Kuriga village in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State have safely arrived at the Government House in Kaduna.

Escorted by security personnel, the schoolchildren arrived at Sir Kashim Ibrahim Government House at approximately 2:09 p.m. The children were transported in five buses from the 1 Division Nigerian Army Headquarters in Kaduna, with tight security measures to ensure their safety.

The abduction took place on March 7 from a LEA and Junior Secondary School in Kuriga village, Chikun local government area of the state. After enduring weeks of uncertainty and fear, the children were finally released on Sunday.

The Kaduna State Government announced the release of the schoolchildren, providing a glimmer of hope and relief to their families and the entire community. The safe return of these children marks a significant milestone in efforts to address insecurity and protect Kaduna State’s citizens’ welfare.
