Nigeria’s former Vice President and presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in next year’s general elections, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar says if elected into office, his cabinet will be 40 percent women and youths.
According to a tweet he posted on his official Twitter handle on Tuesday, Atiku said under the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, Nigeria has become the headquarters of extreme poverty.
“Nigeria under Buhari is now the world HQ for extreme poverty. If we are to change that, we must empower women & youths.
“Therefore, I give an undertaking that if by the grace of God, I am elected by you the good people of Nigeria, at least 40% of my cabinet would be women & youths,” the tweet read.
