The All Progressives Congress (APC) has rejected the judgment of the Federal High Court sitting in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital which nullified the primary election of the party and ruled that it has no candidate for the November 16 governorship poll in the state.

At a press briefing on Thursday, the ruling party said that it would appeal the judgement as its lawyers were already working on the processes to first secure a stay of execution.

Ruling in a case filed by Heineken Lokpobiri who was one of the APC governorship aspirants, the court presided over by Justice Jane Inyang declared that the party does not have a governorship candidate in the forthcoming election in the state.

Mr. Lokpobiri, a former Senator and Minister of State for Agriculture had approached the court, asking it to declare him and not Mr. David Lyon as duly elected and the authentic governorship candidate of the APC.
