The Senator representing Kaduna North Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Suleiman Hunkuyi says he will do everything possible to ensure that Governor Nasir El-Rufai is voted out of office in 2019.
Speaking on Thursday at a ceremony to formally unveil a forum tagged ‘APC Aspirants Forum’, Senator Hunkuyi, who was also elected under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) accused the governor of not being fair to the majority of the people that voted him into office.
While hinting that he may contest the Kaduna State governorship position in 2019, Hunkuyi said the forum was launched to check and neutralize the power of incumbency as well as vote out non-performing officials.
“The battle line has been drawn; we must vote out El-Rufai in 2019 general elections. We will put structures at all levels to ensure that APC followers get credible candidates that will be rallying points for all. Anything less is not acceptable,’ Senator Hunkuyi said.
He added that the forum which he will spearhead will liaise with leaders of the APC towards ensuring that the party executives and political office aspirants emerge though democratic processes and not imposition.
Hunkuyi enjoined all party members and stakeholders to join hands with the forum to rescue the party and Kaduna State from total collapse by charting a new course towards the betterment of the state.
