The Borno State Command of the Nigeria Police has arrested eight persons suspected to have participated in the kidnap of 276 girls from the Government Girls Secondary in Chibok.
The eight suspected Boko Haram terrorists, who were among 22 persons paraded on Wednesday were said to have been arrested by operatives of the Inspector General’s Intelligence Response Team (IGP’s ORT) in Borno, Adamawa and other neighbouring states.
The suspects were also alleged to have masterminded over 50 suicide bomb attacks within Maiduguri and Adamawa as well as being responsible for launching several other attacks which led to the death of thousands of Nigerians.
So far, 112 of the girls who were abducted by members of the terrorist group on April 14, 2014 have regained their freedom mainly following negotiations between the Federal Government and representatives of the group.
