The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the candidates of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) winners of the two supplementary State House of Assembly elections in Rivers State.
The rerun polls covered four local governments areas of Gokana, Abua/Odual, Ahoada West and Opobo/Nkoro .
In Ahoada West State Constituency, Hon. Okpokiri Nwanaka Okpokiri of the PDP polled 32, 574 to defeat his closest rival, Harry Osomuya of the Democratic Peoples Party (DPP) who polled 3, 236 votes.
In the Gokana State Constituency rerun poll, Hon. Dumle Maol of the PDP was also declared winner. The victory sees the PDP dominating the Rivers State legislature as well as the National Assembly seats for the state.
