Dangote Petroleum Refinery & Petrochemicals has reduced the price of aviation fuel (Jet A1) from ₦1,750 to ₦1,650 per litre as part of efforts to ease operational costs for airlines and ensure steady fuel supply nationwide.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the refinery’s media team said the intervention also includes a 30-day interest-free credit facility for marketers and airline operators backed by bank guarantees, as well as a transition from dollar-based pricing to a naira-denominated model.

The company said the measures were introduced in response to mounting concerns over rising operational expenses in the aviation sector, where aviation fuel accounts for a major share of airline costs.

Industry stakeholders have repeatedly warned that increasing Jet A1 prices were placing significant financial pressure on domestic carriers and threatening the sustainability of flight operations.

According to the statement, the latest price reduction is expected to lower fuel procurement costs for airlines, improve operational stability, and support efforts to moderate airfares across the country.
